A Pakistani truck driver once said: ‘Even a shadow can be mistaken for water at a distance.’ That sentence holds everything: the position of an audience, a physical element, movement, an illusion, it is ethereal and yet tangible, natural and yet artificial, spontaneous and yet staged, but above all a material elaboration of something miraculous. These things might very well be the basic ingredients of a performance.
In the midst of the audience, performers Jules and Lío are propelled by the green lines of a rotating cross laser. A physical game in an anti-decor. A fordable boundary between being alone or together, between plan and flux. But above all, an open experiment that investigates both its own form and medium by literally framing it. What drives what?
